5 ways the Nokia N8 connects into your home

The N8 is known for many things especially the camera and the storage. The Nokia N8 can be useful in other ways, but not everyone knows all those ways. You’re maybe on a trip to parts of the country and bored…Well some say that its free and it kills the boredom completely out of your life, all we know, its called WebTV.

WebTV for the N8

Yes, you do need to have access to an internet connection. All you have to do is connect your handset to a HD TV via the HDMI ports and initiate up WebTV, a fantastic, boredom killing must-have-app that comes pre-installed on every Nokia N8 ever created. Enjoy normal TV channels from CNN to National Geographic to E! and of course, the locals channels that are available through the Ovi Store.

Next up, Digital Music.

Connect a N8 to your stereo, (not that the default speakers aren’t loud enough) and you'll have digital music running through your home in a jiffy. Download tracks from Ovi Music, or maybe free third party websites.

The famous Dolby Digital Surround Sound + HD 720p Video follows.

Connect a N8+big HD screen TV, all equals watching HD films with Dolby Digital Surround Sound. All from a small piece of technology. Need no say more!

Angry Birds on your TV

Till now, Symbian^3 OS has supplied the gaming world with top class games. Everyone gets angry at sometime but expresses their anger in the wrong way. A safe, easy way is to hook up your N8 to a HD TV and start playing Angry Birds on that comfortable couch of yours.

Replace your ADSL/Cable modem

No, you don’t necessarily have to buy an ADSL modem to surf the web. Like me, I do need the N8 sometimes because the internet that I use sometimes gives me problems but with this handsome device, all my worries are terminated. Yesterday, JoikuSpot was awarded the “best Nokia OVI Utility app of 2010, which means that a Full licence is up for grabs for just 5€ for the first 500 applicants!

Facebooking from anywhere!

Used up all your data on your monthly internet subscription? No problem, the Blackberry substitute has arrived at your door with top class Facebook surfing from the palm of your hands!

Comparison: Nokia N8 vs Nokia E7

The N8 was released in September 2010 and soon after that,  the Nokia E7 was also released but with a QWERTY keyboard with a bit less of quality. Unfortunately, he was not provided by 12-megapixel camera but rather a 8 megapixel camera only.

According to many sources and from what I see while writting at the Nokia N8 Blog, this phone is so comfortable but it feels rather too heavy due to the solid stainless steel wrapped in silver cover.

E7 compared to the N8

You might be thinking that it only comes in silver but the truth is that it also comes in black, blue and orange. The name is E7, Nokia E7 (Bond, James Bond).

Equipped with a dangerous 4″ screen, it gives a similar feeling that I have a N8 on my palm rather than a E7. Office applications are supported on the USB-on-the-go connection and the HDMI viewing. Viewing the applications in it, this beauty has several useful pre-installed applications such as Vligo, F-Secure, Quick Office and World Traveler.

When Joikuspot for Nokia N8 was released, it was a big issue but not as big as this one, the application comes pre-installed with a bonus of Microsoft Communicator World.

Nokia E7 different views

Being a brother of the N8, in some cases it could be called the dad. The reason it could be called the dad is that because the folders feature is present unlike the n8, the battery is a bit easier to remove, it has an ambient light detector and an automatic capability to serve as a data modem. Nokia wasn’t sure how to price the handset because it was needed to be redeemed to bring back the true value of Nokia.

It looks like the values won’t be that much high comparing with Nokia N8 prices, with retailer Play.com listing a February 1st launch date, and offering the Nokia E7 on pre-order for £490 – less than the £495 Expansys is giving for this device.
