Nokia N8 Software update for January 2011

Posted: 20 Dec 2010 10:00 AM PST

After the N8 receiving a performance and applications update a month ago, its time for another firmware update for the N8.

@NOKIAINDIA on Twitter revealed that the update shall arrive in the first quarter of 2011. That is all the details that we have for now, maybe that update will bring a portrait qwerty or who knows, faster responsive home-screens.

There are a few things that were updated before but it wasn’t enough for the N8 lovers.

Hopefully this firmware will fill the void.

A few expected updates are:

  • The Nokia Music player on the Nokia N8 looks too good with smooth flow, but still people seems to be missing a lot of basics here and there such as:

A sorting option for getting your songs by date or recently added.

A search option that might be useful in finding your song, when you dont know the album/ movie name. There are a few presets available, but people seem to be missing the customizable equalizer.

The N8 lovers  want the Internet Radio and Podcatcher back on the Nokia N8 .Even though there are apps available for the same.

Another main addition that is lacking, a time lapse option. With the 12MP camera, there should be no excuse not having that.

Top free N8 game

Electronic Arts is responsible for many games such as FIFA, Meadl of Honour, Sims and many more. But this review is particularly dedicated to NFS Shift which is free.

This game only has one simple task, which is to be faster than all the other CPU. There’s 2 game-play modes available namely Quick Race and Career. Pick up your N8 and play Quick Race which just lets you take your car for a spin around a track however Career-mode takes you on a journey across the world, overpowering each continent, beating all the different car models and conquering them.

The further you go in depth in to your career, the more bulkier your virtual pockets get, leaving you with lots of spare cash to buy upgrades for your engine, a new spoiler or even a new car. You either play from the driver's seat looking out from the windscreen or floating above the car.

This game is awesome but once you finish it, there are no add-ons yet.
