Realise the Reboot button below? Today I’m gonna teach you how to add the Reboot button in your Power key menu. A reboot button would be useful when you want to restart your phone immediately due to some bugs or lag or so.

1. Start X-Terminal
2. Type this and enter after every line in sequence

• root
• cd /etc/systemui
• cp systemui.xml systemui.xml.bak (NOTE:THIS IS TO CREATE A BACKUP FILE, SKIP THIS IF YOURE CONFIDENT)
• vi systemui.xml

1. Now use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll down to the 10th paragraph of text that starts with
   <!–
   <menuitem priority=”20″ name=”Reboot”>
   this is the paragraph that you will need to edit a little.
2. Press the capital letter I to start editing (you would need to press SHIFT [which is the up arrow button on the far left on keyboard] then I)
3. see at the start of the paragraph the text <!– you need to delete this
4. Now go down the paragraph 4 lines, create a new line by navigating to the end of the line of text text saying </menuitem> and pressing the enter button on your keyboard
5. In that new blank line you have just created type in <!– (to get the < symbol you will need to hold down the blue shift key then press ctrl key which will bring up a virtual keyboard with the < symbol on it for you to select)
6. Your first 6 lines should look exactly like this:
   <menuitem priority=”20″ name=”Reboot”>
   <return>6</return>
   <po>osso-powerup-shutdown</po>
   </menuitem>
   <!–
   <menuitem priority=”10″ name=”Soft poweroff”>
   (basically what you have done is moved the text <!– down 4 lines)
7. Press ESC on the touchscreen in Terminal
8. Now type :wq and press enter
9. Restart your N900 and you should have the Reboot button as the above image

And there you have it readers. A reboot button on your power key menu when you press the power key once.
