Top 20 Symbian^3 OS application week continuation

Posted: 26 Dec 2010 12:30 PM PST

After posting the top 2 applications, we continue our journey to the third, fourth and fifth place.

In third place, comes SPB TV!

This application is hardly heard of but it is fully functional and a no-nonsense application.

This was initially a commercial piece of software until small amounts of free channels were thrown in.

SPB TV is now freeware with little ads here and there and definetely well worth downloading. 100 of live TV, of international flavour, all available on demand on your phone.

Get SPB TV from the Ovi Store.

In fourth place is TuneWiki,

To further advance into the the media department, this application tenders a lyrics-based guide to the music collection, which is all excellent but the catch is that it’s able to play back Shoutcast Internet radio stations, offering you unlimited streaming content.

It features top sound quality when in the foreground but it’s important that you know that if you switch away and start increasing the pressure on the processor it will result in a little stutter.

Get it from the Ovi Store.

Fifth place is reserved for Google Maps

Despite the overpowerment of Ovi Maps, it’s never too late have a good backup. Version 4.1.1 is the latest of them all and it even has a built-in Latitude (friend-finding), Satellite, Traffic, Transit lines and Wikipedia (layers) support. As expected, Google Maps has no voice navigation.

See you next time!
